If this is the case, I would think that most authors would be vehemently against e-books, as it appears that they’re the ones who are losing money. At The Atlantic, Michael Kinsley has argued that book prices are overinflated because of “perks” taken by the publishers. Even if Kinsley is right, and it seems like he might be pretty hyperbolic in his clams, publisher’s costs are not what’s being negotiated down, but it’s the money that goes to the author is cut.
